Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NomadsCasa ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use nomadscasa.com. For users in the United Kingdom, we act as the data controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For users in the United States, this policy is intended to meet the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA) and similar state laws.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data: email address, name and sign-in details when you create an account.
  • Payment data: plan and transaction records. Card details are processed by our payment provider; we never store full card numbers.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, searches, saved listings and alerts, approximate location (city/country from IP), device and browser type, referring site and campaign tags.
  • Communications: messages you send us and email preferences.

2. How we use it and legal bases

  • To provide the service, your account and paid features (performance of a contract).
  • To process payments and send receipts (contract; legal obligation).
  • To send listing alerts you subscribe to (consent — unsubscribe any time).
  • To improve the site, prevent fraud and keep it secure (legitimate interests).
  • To comply with tax, accounting and other legal duties (legal obligation).

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences, and first-party analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear or block storage in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, database, payment processing, email delivery), when required by law, or as part of a business transfer.

5. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States, the UK or the EU. Where UK data is transferred abroad, we rely on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

6. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period after closure, except where we must retain records (for example, payment records for tax purposes).

7. Your rights

UK users may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

US users (including California and other states with privacy laws) may request to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and opt out of sale or sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may use an authorised agent; we may verify your identity before acting.

To exercise any right, email NomadsCasa@atheniaai.com. We respond within one month (UK) or 45 days (US), as the law requires.

8. Children

The service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable providers to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or by email.
